Running shirts for Transdek’s Tough Mudder team

The brief

Transdek asked for printed running shirts in line with its current T-shirt design: the Transdek logo on the front, and the charities the team was running for on the back. The shirts had to be ready for the Tough Mudder start in Skipton.

What we did

We used transfer printing, which let us produce the shirts quickly enough for the event date. For the garment we chose an Asics running shirt, a sporting event over that distance calls for a top that stays comfortable and does not chafe.

On the artwork we advised how to keep the job simple: keep the logos within a certain size and combine them into a single design rather than several separate prints. The shirts were produced and delivered in time for the run.

What the team was running for

Tough Mudder events are not races. They are 10 to 12 mile obstacle courses built to test strength, stamina and the willingness to help the person next to you, and more than a million people have taken one on.

The event's main purpose was raising money for Help for Heroes, and the Transdek team were also raising for the Livestrong cancer charity, the Fire Fighters Charity and Macmillan. The service manager who entered explained that Macmillan supported his family when they lost his grandmother in 1997 and his father in 2007, both to cancer. The three of them raised £1,445 for Macmillan.
