250 T-shirts printed in Barcelona and delivered to Apcera’s DockerCon stand
Apcera is based in San Francisco. Its team was heading to DockerCon in Barcelona on 16–17 November and needed 250 T-shirts there, and shipping boxes across the Atlantic made less sense than printing where the event was.
The brief
Staff T-shirts on a garment brand the team already knew and trusted, comfortable for two long days, carrying a logo with a lot of colours that had to match the brand exactly. One unusual detail: the logo ran vertically down one side of the shirt.
What we did
We offered the Bella+Canvas 3001, made in Los Angeles, which the client accepted straight away. The artwork first arrived with transparency, which pointed to DTG; but DTG cannot give an exact Pantone match, and the brand colours mattered more. Apcera settled on flat colours with Pantone references, so the job went to screen printing, one set of screens for all 250 shirts, and the vertical side print handled without difficulty.
Rather than ship to the US and have the team carry the boxes back to Spain, we delivered the finished T-shirts to the event, to their exact stand.
The result
The shirts were waiting at the booth when the team arrived, and Apcera was happy with both the garment and the print, soft to the touch, and the colours right.
One screen, 250 shirts
The client reached our Barcelona office looking for help with their print designs, and was surprised to find English-speaking staff who could take the requirements straight down without translation. That removed a round trip before the job had even started.
Screen printing was the recommendation because the same screen produces all 250 T-shirts. Set the screen once and the 250th shirt is the first shirt, which is what a company handing garments to strangers at a conference stand needs.
