Printed T-shirts, polos and embroidered shirts for Amazon Web Services

Amazon Web Services first came to us for Mobile World Congress 2015. By the time of the AWS Summit that November the order had grown to seven designs and around 2,000 garments, and by MWC 2016 the staff were still wearing the embroidered shirts from the Summit.

Mobile World Congress 2015

AWS contacted us in March with two designs and around 200 units of each, promotional clothing and workwear for the congress. Screen printing handled both designs and kept the set-up simple enough to have everything printed before the event.

The AWS Summit, Fira Barcelona

On 5 November AWS ran its Summit at the Fira in Barcelona and asked for seven different designs across roughly 2,000 garments, shirts, T-shirts and polos. We used a mix of methods to suit each garment: embroidery on the shirts and polos worn by staff, so roles were easy to identify across the event, with ‘AMAZON WEB SERVICES’ embroidered on the shirts; screen printing for the giveaway T-shirts; and DTG for the T-shirts worn by the AWS support team on hand to answer questions about the software.

Mobile World Congress 2016

The following February AWS was back at MWC and wanted the same standard again. We supplied B&C T-shirts and screen printed two models, ‘Big Data’ and ‘Start Up’, 400 of each, with two- or three-colour prints on the front and sleeve, 800 T-shirts in all, delivered at the time the client asked for on the day of the event.

The account has since widened beyond garments to banners, roll-ups and flyers.

One order, several roles

The shirts and polos were not one uniform. They were used at different points of the event to mark out the different roles people were playing, so a delegate could tell at a glance who was staffing a desk and who was running the session.

The garments were B&C, chosen for the surface they give a screen print, and screen printing was the technique because it reproduces a design identically across every unit in the run. On a job where the same mark appears on several garment types, that consistency is the whole point.

“Everything was great. We received the T-Shirts in perfect time. The printing was fantastic and the folding and bagging were exactly as required. We will keep in touch for our next event!”
