The HGTE charity clothing line for Violet, Harrogate
Sara Shaw opened Violet, a contemporary womenswear shop in the heart of Harrogate, around her own taste. Then she visited the Harrogate Homeless Project and decided the shop should do something for a town where social problems are easy to gloss over, a clothing range, sold for the cause, designed by someone who had never designed a garment.
The brief
Sara wanted high-quality, eco-friendly products that would appeal to her customers, in a range of styles, colours and sizes suitable for fashion resale. She came to us with the idea and the ‘HGTE’ logo that would mark the range.
What we did
The first order was sustainable printed sweatshirts and tote bags. We screen printed the HGTE logo to give the range a solid, eye-catching mark, and because the garments were going straight onto shop rails we produced a number of samples before anything was printed in quantity.
The sweatshirts and totes sold well enough that Sara repeated the order and added custom printed T-shirts to the line.
Since then
The HGTE range continues to do well, and we continue to supply it, sustainably printed, in the colours and sizes the shop needs each season.
