Retro motoring T-shirts and hoodies for The TT Store, every couple of months

The brief

Gary’s first order was large and complicated: many garments, from T-shirts to hoodies, in many different designs, with a very specific visual and a fixed deadline. Some clients need guidance; some know the printing process and want their specification followed to the letter. This was the second kind.

What we did

With a high quantity and designs that were intricate in places, screen printing was the method, it gives the best economy of scale on a large order and holds detail across the run. The visual approval went through many rounds of changes, and we went to print with only days left before the deadline.

The order arrived on time and Gary was pleased with both the print and the service. He has been a returning customer ever since, placing large orders every couple of months, and came to a West Ham event as our guest.

Where the name comes from

The obvious guess is the Isle of Man TT. The owner has explained that it is not: he has been a member at Brooklands on and off for years, and the influence was Thomson & Taylor, the motor-racing and engineering company that worked there. The McLaren of their day, as he puts it.

Every design carries that retro style and reflects the era of the vehicle it is about, which is what the customers, sports car, motorbike and aviation enthusiasts, are buying. The visual we were sent was very specific and the job had to match it exactly.
