Cancer Is A Drag launched at London Pride in 2012 with a walking group dressed as doctors and nurses. Its founder, Alan Bugg, had been living with cancer since 2010 and knew first-hand what financial and moral support meant. The charity raises that support through drag events, and through the merchandise it sells at them.
The brief
The charity asked us for printed doctors’ coats, scrubs and T-shirts, each carrying its name, its information and the Rainbow Legs logo. The aim was straightforward: get the logo seen, and sell the garments to raise funds.
What we did
We have printed for the charity since its early days, a quick turnaround from order to delivery, and new techniques introduced as their designs called for them. When a design or method has not worked out as planned, we have redone the order, and we have donated a batch to support their fundraising.
The result
The T-shirts have helped make the Rainbow Legs logo recognisable on the London scene, recognisable enough that people at fundraising events regularly ask where they can buy one.
