The brief
One hundred white T-shirts for the fundraiser, the same design we had printed for the event before. The difficulty with a repeat order is not the printing; it is making the new batch match the old one exactly.
What we did
For a repeat, screen printing is the method we trust. The screen is made once and reused, so with the colour set correctly every print comes out the same size and shade as the last, this year’s shirt indistinguishable from last year’s.
The result
The run matched the earlier order and the shirts went on sale in central Brixton, with proceeds supporting the campaigners. The client tells us they are proving popular.
The night the shirts were for
With the centre of Brixton under pressure from property developers, evictions, council regeneration and Network Rail redevelopment, Brixton Buzz was pressing the issue publicly and putting on events to fund the fight.
The benefit concert at the 1,500-capacity Electric Brixton was headlined by Alabama 3 and the Fat White Family, with Lara Lee, Potent Whisper, Misty Miller and Ese, plus DJs from the area. The money went to groups campaigning for fairer housing and supporting people struggling with rising rents.
“The t-shirts are proving to be very popular in the community.”
