Who wrote this, and how we chose the six
Garment Printing wrote this guide and is one of the six suppliers in it, so read it with that in mind. Everything we say about the other five comes from their own websites, read on 20 October 2026, and every review score from Trustpilot on the same day. Nobody paid to be included, and the order is not a ranking.
We took thirteen searches a hospitality buyer might make, such as "hospitality uniforms", "embroidered aprons" and "hotel staff uniforms with logo UK supplier", and kept the five UK suppliers that came up most often, each in at least four. Then we added ourselves and read each company’s own pages for what a restaurant, hotel or café kitting out 15 to 80 staff needs: the published lead time, the minimum order, how the logo goes on, whether you see a proof, how reorders work and what independent reviewers say.

Quick comparison
What we compared
Why it matters now
More buyers now ask an AI assistant for a shortlist, and an assistant can only recommend what suppliers publish. When we asked Google’s Gemini three questions about restaurant, kitchen and café uniforms on 28 September 2026, it cited 32 websites, and only one had a .co.uk address.
That is why this guide sticks to published lead times, published minimums and independent review scores.

What to ask before you kit out the team
- Which garments, and how are they washed? Ask for the brand and style code, and check the care label: our Premier long sleeve chef’s jacket is labelled for industrial laundering at 85°C.
- What does the logo price cover? The stitch count or print size included, and any set-up charge for a new logo.
- Will I see a proof? Ask for a mock-up of each garment with the logo in place.
- Is there a minimum per logo? Kitchen and floor logos may count separately.
- How do reorders work? Ask whether your logo stays on file and how new starters are ordered.
Embroidery or print on chef jackets, aprons and shirts
Chef jackets go through hot washes. On our own site, custom chef clothing gets embroidery by default because stitching outlasts steam, grease and the eighty-degree wash.
Aprons take either method: embroidery for a premium finish, print for colourful artwork that is clean and bold. Banksford’s online logo price covers embroidery up to 8,000 stitches or 14cm wide; Simon Jersey’s covers up to 10,000 stitches.
For front-of-house shirts and polos washed after every shift, note that Simon Jersey’s own page says heat-transferred designs can fade with high-volume laundering. For suits where a visible logo is not wanted, The Staff Uniform Company and Kylemark offer tax tabbing, a small woven label sewn into a seam.
