What to ask before you order staff jackets
- How weatherproof? Ask for the brand, style code and waterproof rating in millimetres. The Russell J140M in our range is water resistant to 5,000mm; the Uneek softshell we read at Totally Branded is listed at 10,000mm.
- Can the logo avoid the lining? Some softshells have a decoration access for embroidering without going through the lining: the J140M at the left chest, the Uneek at the left chest and back yoke.
- Which sizes and fits? Ask for women’s fits and larger sizes, and which colours carry them: on the J140M, 3XL and 4XL come in fewer colours.
- One address or many? Essential Workwear can pack to employees’ own addresses; Totally Branded can split an order across locations for an extra charge.
Embroidery or print on softshell, fleece and padded jackets
Embroidery is the usual choice for a chest logo: Totally Branded uses it as standard on softshells, and Brandable Clothing recommends it for most of them. A new logo has to be set up first: Essential Workwear charges £15 plus VAT per logo, and Blackpool Logos sets logos up free.
Print suits full-colour artwork and large back designs, ideally on a printable softshell: Essential Workwear lists the Regatta Ablaze Printable Softshell, and Best Workwear and Totally Branded list printable softshells from Result.
