It might seem like a strange combination when you say it aloud, but printed tote bags and raising brand awareness actually go hand in hand. Using printed tote bags to promote an organisation is a popular and well-used method and can be seen in top PR businesses, all the way down to local charities. Alongside other garments and accessories, the humble printed tote bag is used in a variety of ways to give businesses all over the world a branding boost.

HOW CAN I USE TOTE BAGS TO RAISE BRAND AWARENESS?

Charitable organisations and businesses use tote bags to raise brand awareness in a number of different ways. The most popular method is probably to buy in bulk and give away totes for free at events such as business and employability fairs or at festivals. However, tote bags filled with goodies can also be used as incentives for customer loyalty, or even given away at focus groups as a ‘thank you’ for taking part.

There is really no right or wrong way of raising brand awareness with a tote bag but there are some tried and tested methods that seem to work really well. Nonetheless, you can play it as safe or as creatively as you like, so why not give it a go?

HOW DOES A TOTE BAG ACTUALLY RAISE AWARENESS FOR MY BRAND?

You might be wondering what a cotton or printed canvas bag can actually do for your organisation and that’s fair enough. The most important thing to remember about tote bags is that they are portable, so people will carry them around and use them at the shops and beach – Especially if they are given away for free. This means that your brand will travel all across your city and probably much further afield too.

This type of advertising costs very little and can potentially bring in new customers for many years to come. Tote bags really are an invaluable tool for your organisation and what you decide to print on them will greatly determine how well they work.

WHAT CAN I PUT ON MY TOTE BAG?

Whilst what you put on your bags is up to you, there are some things that you should consider if you want your tote bag to raise maximum brand awareness.

Your logo:

You’ll want it to be big and you’ll want it to be clear because no one will look twice if your logo is too small.

Your website:

This is very important if you want people to grab their mobiles and search for you on the go.

Your slogan:

Pretty logos are nice to capture people’s attention but they aren’t going to follow it up if they don’t know what you’re about.Find out more here!

Although your budget might determine what you print on your tote bag, you’ll want to make maximum use of the space available for the biggest effect. Whether you choose to use one or both sides of the bag just remember to make it clear and aesthetically pleasing so that it captures the attention of passers-by.
