How printed T-Shirts can make Freshers Week worthwhile

Since we covered what Freshers Week is last week, it’s probably time to tell you some tricks to help you make that special week into a truly memorable one. In this post, I will be telling you how to make the most out of Freshers Week without overdoing yourself. So, without further adieu, here are some things to remember before you enter into the Week of Freshers.

Lifelong friendships aren’t always made here:

Your hall mates do not need to become your lifelong friends. If you’re living in student residences on campus, or maybe even off campus, then it is highly likely that you will grow close with those who are surrounding you – and it’s very easy to understand why! You are in close proximity, sharing a lot of the same feelings {and even probably sharing a fridge), so naturally you will feel inclined to befriend these people. However, just remember that you are not tied to having a lifelong friendship with your neighbours.

Don’t overdo it!

Don’t try and outdo yourself. Make sure that you pace yourself and don’t try to spend the whole week doing everything – especially it that involves going to bed at 4am only to have try-outs for a team sport the next day! Make sure you get plenty of rest and don’t feel obligated to attend every event.

Budget yourself:

Make sure you budget your money! There have been so many students who have used a greater portion of their loans or even semester money on Freshers Week and then had to find ways to make ends meet the rest of the semester. So, even though it’s tedious make sure you know where you need your money to go for classes and food, but make sure you save some money for the nights out as well.

The Freshers Fair is the place to be:

Make sure that you go to the Freshers Fair. This is an event that we talked about last week, but we want to reiterate how important this event is for freshers. This will allow you to see all the different societies and sports teams on campus, and help you decide which groups you want to be in and what kind of people you want to surround yourself with – so make sure that you attend this event (also, who doesn’t love getting free stuff?!).

It’s OK to go on the wagon:

It’s OK to not drink! There are lots of other people out there who don’t drink for whatever reason, so try to get connected in a group (whether it be religious or otherwise) who does not put an emphasis on drinking.

Be careful and be discreet:

Just like Vegas, what happens in Freshers Week, stays in Freshers Week. During this week there are sure to be plenty of flings and other drunken stupidity happening. Just remember, if this happens to you, be careful and try to stay discreet about it.

Get involved in politics (If you want):

Student politics are tricky, and they often mirror “real-world” politics. If you are going to be involved in student politics, or even close to someone who is involved in them, remember these people are often cliquey. However, don’t let that scare you into joining them because if you are seeking a political career then this will be a great benefit for you!

Get everything in order:

Make sure that you remember that this is the beginning of your adult life. While you may still have some support from your parents, this is the time of your life where you should be learning how to live on your own. So make sure that you use this time to get your affairs in order!

Lastly – have fun!

Freshers Week and university, in general, is meant to be fun, it is your last step before adulthood so make sure you’re enjoying yourself. And don’t forget to get all of your Freshers Week clothing from here!

We can help you with everything you need for Freshers Week including providing printed Freshers T-Shirts, hoodies, sunglasses and other accessories.
