Violet Store’s Printed Garments For Charity Clothing Line

The Client

Violet is the beautifully laid out, well-stocked contemporary womenswear shop, situated in the heart of Harrogate. However, this isn’t your average boutique, Violet has a creatively crafted philanthropic side.

The owner, Sara Shaw originally set up the store with her own, personal taste in mind, yet the concept has developed way beyond this. She was very keen to do something to support her local community, a very affluent town where social issues exist but are often glossed over or ignored, so she visited the Harrogate Homeless Project to get informed.

She decided, in spite of having little practical design experience, that she’d offer a range of garments to support the cause. Looking for high quality, eco-friendly products that would appeal to savvy customers, she came to Garment Printing.

The Challenge

We’ve been supplying Violet store with their personalised fashion clothing line for a while, and seen how it’s evolved over time. When Sara first came to us for custom garment printing, she opted for sustainable printed sweatshirts and tote bags, which were so popular that she has repeated her order and since added custom printed T-Shirts to her range.

We printed the ‘HGTE’ logo that characterises Violet’s charity fashion clothing range with screen printing, to create a solid, eye-catching brand.

As Sara needed a variety of different products in various colours and sizes for fashion resale, we wanted to make sure that everything was just right, and so produced a number of samples before they went to the clothing rails.

The HGTE printed charity clothing line continues to have a great deal of success, meaning that Garment Printing and Violet store continue to work together, producing high quality, sustainably printed textile products.

“I have no practical design experience and didn’t have a clue how to transform my design into an actual garment but after reaching out to a couple of printing companies for help, I was blown away with Garment Printing’s patience, can-do and supportive attitude. The quality has been exceptional; my endless questions, requests for quotes and changes of colours has always been met with nothing but helpfulness. I would not hesitate to recommend the company, and specifically Simon.

Setting up a new business was stressful enough but organising and delivering on this little charity initiative I feel has been more like a partnership and I couldn’t have got it off the ground without Garment Printing’s help!” – Sara
