Founded in 1990, the Anne Frank Trust UK uses Anne’s life and inspirational message as an anchor to educate people about damage caused by all forms of prejudice and discrimination. The Trust is there for young people across the country when they are likely to be at their most vulnerable and impressionable and imbues in them the importance of positive attitudes, personal responsibility and respect for others.
They do this through educational projects in schools, prisons and communities across the UK.
The client contacted our sales team here at Garment Printing well ahead of time, which is unusual for us. They needed to order 18 bright green cycling jerseys for a fundraising event they were hosting in Amsterdam. We supply many companies and people with High Quality Sportswear so this was not a problem. The Anne Franks Trust UK were attempting a 55 mile bike ride, hoping to raise awareness and fund the many good causes they support.
They needed printing on a comfortable garment that was specifically designed for bike riding, but still staying within a tight budget as the organisation is obviously a non-profit.
There were many issues with design on this order as the client wasn’t fully aware of what was needed. They provided many different formats and compositions before we finally got what we needed and they were happy with it. They couldn’t decide on a solid colour, background colour, no background etc etc. This meant that the head start we had initially didn’t matter much and this still ended up being a last minute, nail biting express order to get printed and delivered in time for the event.
We needed to vector the artwork ourselves in house, which our designer, Chris, handled quickly and professionally. Once the design was sorted out, there were even more challenges for us. The garments had various pockets and places where we couldn’t print so we had to be very careful when going ahead.Due to the difficulty in the print positions we opted for transfer printing as this allows us more flexibility to manually place the transfer before heat-pressing the transfer onto the garment.
In the end, the client received their order in time for their event. They were very happy with the comfort of the garment and the print itself. They were impressed with our efforts with the design aspects of the job as they admitted to have very little knowledge on this.
“Everyone was made up to be given one to wear riding into Amsterdam on the 2nd day, so a job well done, thanks! You were very patient with me and my lack of design/print knowledge – we would be happy to use your printing services again. The quality of the shirts was good too for cycle-wear and very comfortable to wear for the 55 miles into the city from the Hook of Holland that morning.”
