Please scroll down to find full details of the customisation and promotional printing techniques and services we offer. Our services include: Screen Printing, Transfer Printing, CAD Cut Vinyl Printing, DTG Printing and Embroidery.
Screen Printing Screen Printing is great for medium or large quanitity orders and it offers excellent print quality. Minimum order of 10-15 units of the same design. Max Print size is A3.
1. Your artwork/design is printed in black ink onto a film. (A film is a transparent material, like an overhead projector sheet.)
2. This film is attached to a screen and then exposed to UV light
3. The area of the screen exposed to the light hardens or solidifies
4. The area of the screen unexposed to the light is your design
5. The screen is washed in a chemical
6. This artwork remains transparent
How the clothing is screen printed:
1. The screen is attached to a screen printing machine
2. The tshirts or garments are placed underneath the screen on a flat bed
3. The screen is pulled down onto the tshirt or garment
4. Then the ink is spread over the screen using manual or automatic processes
5. The ink passes through the unexposed areas of the screen
6. The screen is lifted from the tshirt or garment
7. The tshirt or garment is then passed through a drying machine
- Follow the garment washing instructions on the label.
- Tumble dry - YES.
- However, we advise allowing the garments to dry naturally.
Transfer Printing Transfer Printing is a perfect solution for small print runs of colour full designs and photographs. Best results on white or light coloured garments.
- Perfect for low volumes - between 1 and 25 units.
- Perfect for bespoke orders such as individual names, lettering and numbers, photographs and full-colour designs, Great for promotional clothing, stags & hens and one off t-shirts.
- No set up costs.
- Fast Service - same day & next day availability on this service.
- No restriction on colours within the design.
Cons:
- Please note that max print size is usually A4.
- A3 can be achieved (we can print 2 x A4 transfer sheets and apply separately. This ‘may’ leave a bleed line between the 2 transfers.) – see examples.
- Not as durable as screen printing.
- Produces best results on white or very light garments.
1. Your design is printed onto transfer material using specialist inks.
2. The design is then cut to shape (by hand or by specialist machines).
3. The design is then applied to the garments using a Heat Press.
- Cold wash advised with non-biological powders and liquids.
- You can tumble dry inside out but it isn’t advised as this may damage the transfer material.
- Unfortunately not all garment materials are made from exactly the same fabric, so despite huge developments in Transfer technology, the colours may run after a lot of washes or if tumble-dried.
- We advise allowing the garments to dry naturally.
This is a great approach for clothing that has a short life span requirement. For example, promotional Tshirts for product launches, or stag & hen do Tshirts. The transfer will last for a long time, but after a lot of washes the colours may start to fade.
CAD Cut Printing Cad Cut Printing is the process of printing single colour solid graphics, or names and numbers onto garments for small orders using a specialist vinyl product. For example, football team tshirt names and numbers or stag tshirts.
- Perfect for low volumes - between 1 and 25 units.
- Suitable for single colour solid designs.
- Perfect for: individual names, lettering and numbers and bespoke individual orders.
- No set up costs but sometimes labour charges added for larger orders.
- Fast service - same day & next day availability.
- Very hard wearing and durable – because it is a vinyl material the colour remains near perfect.
Cons:
- Colour restrictions - because we are cutting from rolls of vinyl material we cannot print exact Pantone References. But still, there are a lot of colour options.
- Sometimes time consuming depending on the complexity of designs.
1. Your design is uploaded to our specialist printing and cutting machines.
2. The designs are cut out from single colour vinyl material.
3. The design is cut to perfect shape using Cad Cut machines.
4. The design is then heat pressed onto the tshirts or garments.
5. Very high quality professional finish.
- Follow the garment washing instructions on the label.
- We advise allowing the garments to dry naturally.
DTG – Direct to Garment Printing DTG Printing is an alternative to Transfer Printing but it is more expensive, it takes longer, and has a minimum order of 5 units of the same design. The state of the art specialist inks are printed direct to the garment so no transfer is used.
1. Your design is uploaded to this state of the art machine.
2. The garment is loaded onto a flat bed.
3. The Inks are printed directly onto the garments.
- Follow the garment washing instructions on the label.
- Tumble Dry – YES – but too much heat and too often will eventually fade the colours.
- We advise allowing the garments to dry naturally.
Embroidery Embroidery is the process of stitching your designs directly onto the garments, or onto badges, which are then applied to the garments. With new technology we are also able to use multicolour designs to create fantastic results.
1. First we must count how many stitches are needed for your design using computer technology.
2. Then your design has to be digitised. This is the process of uploading the artwork into the embroidery machines and creating an embroidery disc. With this disc the machines can replicate your designs to very high quality.
3. Our embroidery machines then go to work and create the finished embroidered product.
- Follow the garment washing instructions on the label.
- Tumble Dry – YES – but too much heat and too often will eventually fade the colours.
- We advise allowing the garments to dry naturally.
Who Uses Garment Printing?
