See how printed uniforms made Tesco a brand leader

Challenge

In 2013, Tesco participated in the Good Food Show in Glasgow, Scotland using their own Tesco Finest Range. The retail giant came to Garment Printing asking for printed outfits which would allow the Tesco Employees to be instantly recognisable whilst they're at the event. Tesco wanted polo shirts for their entire events team, as well as work-wear branded aprons for their team of cooks.

Solution

For the printed polo shirts, we suggest using our best-selling Gildan polo shirt due to its stylish appearance with its cuffed sleeves, taped neck and twin needle hem. The polo shirt is also perfect for printed on and we knew that it would represent Tesco's brand perfectly. For the aprons, we opted for a high-quality Premier apron as the anti-tangle ties and crease resistant finish offers excellent comfort and durability whilst working.

"For the quantities of 100 polo shirts and 20 aprons and a one colour print, screen printing was the best option" commented Gavin Drake, Director of Garment Printing. "The aprons had a from print of the Tesco Finest logo, the polo shirts had the same print on the left breast and back, complemented by the "#LoveEveryMouthful" Hashtag to maximise viral sharing on social media channels, especially Twitter".

Result

After we agreed the artwork, the designs were sent to our print location where we was able to get them printed and they came out excellently. We arranged for a quick delivery method to ensure that they were received by Tesco within plenty of time so they could be passed to their staff and cooks ready for the event.
