ANNE FRANK TRUST

Founded in 1990, the Anne Frank Trust UK uses Anne's life and inspirational message as an anchor to educate people about damage caused by all forms of prejudice and discrimination. The Trust enters the lives of young people across the country when they are likely to be at their most vulnerable and impressionable and imbues in them the importance of positive attitudes, personal responsibility and respect for others.

They do this through educational projects in schools, prisons and communities across the UK.

What they needed from us:

The client contacted our sales team here at Garment Printing well ahead of time, which is unusual for us. They needed to order 18 bright green cycling jerseys for a fundraising event they were hosting in Amsterdam.

The event, a 55 mile bike ride, was aimed at raising awareness and funding for the many good causes they support.

They needed printing on a comfortable garment that was specifically designed for bike riding, but still staying within a tight budget as the organisation is obviously charity based.

After much deliberation and advice, we and the client decided on the S188M Spiro bikewear full zip top.

What we did and why:

There were many issues with design on this order as the client wasn’t fully aware of what was needed. They provided many different formats and compositions before we finally got what we needed and they were happy with. They couldn’t decide on a solid colour, background colour, no background etc etc. This meant that the head start we had initially didn’t matter much and this still ended up being a last minute, nail biting express order to get printed and delivered in time for the event.

We needed to vector the artwork ourself in house, which our designer, Chris, handled quickly and professionally.

Once the design was sorted out, there were even more challenges for us. The garments had various pockets and places where we couldn’t print so we had to be very careful when going ahead.

Printing technique used:

Due to the difficulty in the print positions we opted for a transfer print as this allows us more flexibility to manually place the transfer before heat-pressing the transfer onto the garment.

Conclusion:

In the end, the client received their order in time for their event. They were very happy with the comfort of the garment and the print itself. They were impressed with our efforts with the design aspects of the job as they admitted very little knowledge on this.

Testimonial:

“Everyone was made-up to be given one to wear riding into Amsterdam on the 2nd  day so a job well done – thanks! You were very patient with me and my lack of design/print knowledge- and we would be happy to use your service again. The quality of the shirts was good too for cyclewear- and very comfortable to wear for the 55 miles into the city from the Hook of Holland that morning.
