T shirt printing at London Fashion Week?? Yes it happened! Being t shirt lovers ourselves (naturally), we were ecstatic to find out about the massive tidal wave made by t shirts from top British fashion and beauty glossy Grazia Daily and illustrator Simeon Farrar of Black Score made. Aside from the fact that Farrar’s designs have brilliant detail and are impeccably designed, they are straight-to-the-point and unapologetic—an unlikely combination that just worked wonders. Farrar’s custom clothes ended up being worn by über famous model Cara Delevingne and one of her best friends, actress/singer/model Rita Ora. Farran made three designs especially for the British top models: one of Delevingne, a second for fellow model Jordan Dunn, and lastly for famous Rolling Stones offspring and high fashion model Georgia May Jagger. Who says t shirts aren’t Fashion Week-worthy? If the models are wearing it, we will too! Designer Christopher Raeburn, known for his ability to “upcycle” fabrics that may have otherwise been seen as scraps, even included some silk jersey t shirts in this year’s collection. Another designer, Christopher Kane, even had Frankenstein t shirts on the same runway as his more feminine pieces that were elegantly wrapped with pastel fabrics. Now that is what we call taking the humble t shirt to new heights!
London Fashion Week is part of what is known as the “Big Four” of worldwide exhibitions of aesthetic technique and prowess. While the weeks designated to New York, Milan, and Paris are all unique and amazing in their own rights, London Fashion Week has been known to feature more haute couture collections with fashion-forward pieces. This is not as a surprise as the English capital was named global fashion capital in 2011 and 2012. Furthermore, the UK fashion industry contributes about £21 billion to the British economy.
At Garment Printing, we’re honoured to be approached by aspiring designers, illustrators and entrepreneurs looking to get some custom clothes done for their businesses and clothing lines. We know how much these individuals value good design, technique, and professionalism, which is why we make sure that their t shirt printing needs are handled with utmost care. We also print vests, sweatshirts, hoodies, and more!
One of our loyal clients is Ray Cabby, Creative Director of Honouray Fashion. While Ray’s past collections have awesome bursts of colour and subtle shapes, his new collection coming out next month will showcase more vintage-inspired pieces. The recently-released hummingbird tees are already generating a lot of buzz. Honouray Fashion is always undeniably hip and fresh, and it is of no surprise that a slew of British scene stealers such as Sarah Marks, Henry Bond, Caspar Lee, Emily Garner, and more love his clothing. The brand’s launch party at Funky Buddha was also a great success. Honouray Fashion is now available at Old Spitalfields Market.
Another repeat client is Angela Towers, who describes herself as a Bantamweight Feminist and part-time activist. Her company The Fashion Move encourages freedom of expression and staying true to oneself. Their line of outspoken and empowering t shirts are certainly eye-catching and thought-provoking. We always love printing for Angela and every time her designs come in, they always put a smile on our faces and make the women in the office walk with a little more bounce in their step.
So here is a shoutout to all designers, illustrators, photographers, and clothing store owners out there: Our aim is to be YOUR preferred printer and provide you with the same service and quality results that we’ve provided to our numerous designer and clothing store clients. But we understand that you’d want to experience our quality products first. Since we love supporting online clothing stores and designers, we decided to put together a package just for you! Though the offer on the flyer is for bamboo shirts (since we are UK leaders in printing on bamboo fabrics), this offer is also available on standard Continental Clothing t shirts as well. See the flyer below for more details and if you’d like to order a sample package or have any questions about our printing services for designers and clothing stores, just send an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org
